Our Building Trades students arrived before 7 AM today to pour concrete for the new baseball and softball press boxes—a project they’ll be constructing themselves. Thanks to Mr. Schlabach’s two-hour block class, these students are getting real, hands-on experience in the skilled trades!

Carterville CUSD No. 5 families, there will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We'll see our students back at school on Tuesday, September 8. Enjoy the long weekend, Lions!

Our High School Publications class had a delicious time preparing for the 2026–2027 yearbook! Students used treats and candy to design page layouts—a hands-on way to practice placing photos, content, and acknowledgments before creating the real deal.

Today during lunch, CHS students without any cell phone referrals got to enjoy a special "Caffeine Bar" treat. Our PBIS team is proud to recognize and celebrate students who consistently follow expectations and build great habits.
Starting the week off on the right foot! Our PE students took the lead today by guiding their peers through a student-led 'Mindful Monday' activity. Great job to our student leaders for building healthy habits and promoting wellness.
