Save the date for CIS Spirit Week and CHS Homecoming. Our students will attend the parade on Friday, October 3, at 1 pm with their homeroom class.

We are hosting our 🧡Annual PTO Tailgate💙 on Friday, September 26th, from 5:30-7 PM, at Tri-C Elementary on the west side of the building, before kickoff!

The PTO is in need of some volunteers to help us with our event! (Thank you to those who have already signed up!)
They are looking for some extra hands to help the PTO board with food distribution, and need volunteers to help supervise the bounce houses that will be set up on the lawn.

Please view your child's Midterm 1 Grade Report that is coming home today in their Friday Folders. Grades can also be viewed through Skyward and a digital copy of this Midterm Report can be viewed within the Portfolio Tab in Skyward Family Access. Term 1 ends on October 10. Have a great weekend!

PBIS Update:

This quarter, our PBIS focus is all about growing by learning from our mistakes and facing challenges head-on. Throughout our morning meetings, students have been diving into the difference between a Growth Mindset and a Fixed Mindset, learning how our mindset can shape how we respond to difficulties and setbacks.

Our school-wide goal is to have fewer than 50 office referrals this quarter. If we meet that goal, we'll celebrate with a kickball tournament at Mountain Dew Park in Marion — home of the Thrillbillies!

We're now at the midway point of the quarter, and students are being regularly updated on our progress. The momentum is strong - stay tuned to find out if we hit our goal!

Team CIS started WIN Time today. Please see the attached informational letter and ask your child what session they are in. GO Team!

Carterville Intermediate students concluded Safety Week today with our Bus Evacuation Drill. Further information and resources have been emailed out to families. Have a great weekend!

Show your school spirit and support our PTO! Our Spirit Wear Fundraiser is currently underway and will run through August 29. Parents can easily scan the QR code to order online or send in a hard copy of the order form with their student. Every purchase helps support activities and programs for our students—thank you for your support!

This is what winning looks like! Team CIS has had an amazing start to this school year and it is because of our staff, students, and parents. We are truly blessed to team up and work together as we begin another year long learning journey. Have a blessed weekend.

This morning, we kicked off Quarter 1 of our PBIS program. Our focus this quarter is on growth and resilience, with the goal: "I will grow by learning from mistakes and facing challenges when they arise." Students showed their spirit and determination during our Minute to Win It-themed games—“Bounce Back Stronger,” “Stick With It,” and “Keep It Rolling" —reinforcing the importance of perseverance and a positive mindset. If we stay on track with fewer than 50 office referrals, we'll celebrate with a school-wide sports tournament just before fall break—let’s work together to make it happen!

Following our kickoff, some grades participated in our PBIS Bootcamp, where we reviewed and practiced our ROAR expectations: Respectful, Organized, Always Safe, and Responsible. Each area of the school—from the hallways to the cafeteria—became a learning zone as students rotated through stations to see what ROAR looks like at CIS.

Dear Parents -

Please bring your child and their school supplies to our Open House tonight from 5:30-6:30. We will have a Book Giveaway outside the office and the building is open for tours. This is an opportunity to meet our staff.

School starts tomorrow 8:00-11:25.

We will have a full day on Friday from 8:00-2:55.

Be sure to download the Carterville App. At this time, only the Live Feed and Menu options are available. The district is clarifying some data transfers and plan to have Rooms and Messages set up for communication by the end of week. More information to come as we launch this new tool to replace Dojo.
